 One of the crowd favorite in recent Miss Universe beauty pageant that happened in Thailand is Miss Vietnam, Good thing that she was able to make it to the final 5 of the competition. However, sources said that if Miss Vietnam’s answer in Q n A portion was rightfully translated, we may have a different result.

Thailand - December 17, 2018.  Miss Philippines Catriona Gray won the prestigious Miss Universe 2018, followed by Miss South Africa who is the first runner up and Miss Venezuela as the 2nd Runner up. However, Many people and supporters believes that Miss Vietnam who is in the top 5 failed to make it to the final 3 because of the interpreter who mistakenly interprets Miss Vietnam Answer allegedly.

On the final 5 Question and Answer Portion, Miss Vietnam was ask this question “The #MeToo movement has sparked a global conversation. In response, some have said that the world has become too politically correct. Do you think the #MeToo movement has gone too far? “




Miss Vietnam confidently answered the question in Vietnamese language and was translated in English by an Interpreter. The interpreter said

“I don’t think that it has gone too far. Protecting women and women’s rights is the right thing to do. “The interpreter said “Women need protection and rights.” She added.

In social media many supporters and fellow Vietnamese said that Miss Vietnam’s answer was translated wrongfully. 

I’m a Vietnamese native speaker and this is Miss Vietnam’s fully translated and accurate answer: “Protecting women’s well-being/health and protecting women  is the right that every women need. Every one of us needs to be protected and we need freedom. Thank you.”
