Ben Adams of A1 Learns Bisaya From Morissette Amon

Benjamin Edward Stephens Adams or simply Ben Adams is a 37-year-old English singer and songwriter, best known as a member of the boy band a1. It is a British-Norwegian boy band that was formed in 1998. The original line-up consists of Paul Marazzi, Christian Ingebrigtsen, Mark Read and Ben Adams. Ingebrigtsen is originally from Oslo, Norway, but the other members originate from London. It was just recently when Ben Adams visited our country to promote his newest single entitled “This Is Christmas”. He is with Morissette Amon, who also taught him some Bisaya words.

Asia’s Phoenix is actually a Bisaya herself who was born and raised in Cebu. Ben started out with the phrase “Kabalo Ka Mag Bisaya”. He also learned “Maayong Adlaw” which means “Good Day!”, “Shagit Mga Bisaya!” means “Make some noise Bisaya people!”, “Gwapa Kaayo Ka Dzai!” meaning “You are very beautiful!”, “Ay Ambot Nimo Dong Oy!” which means “I have no idea”.

Morissette also taught him how to say “take care always” in Bisaya as it is translated as “Amping Ka Pirma Ha?” with a very soft and caring tone at the end. Followed with “Kay Nag-care Man Ko Sa Imo” which means “Because I Care For You”. He finds this phrase a little bit challenging but he also did a great job doing it. They even made a beatbox version out of it. Morissette continued teaching him Bisaya words like how to say “Thank You Very Much” and Ben said “Salamat Kaayo” as well as “Malipayon nga Pasko sa inyong Tanan” which is translated as “Merry Christmas To All of You”.

On their viral video, they even sing their newest song and invited everyone to support and hear their music as it is already available in different music platforms like YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and the likes.

True enough that we Filipinos have a lot of things to be proud of. Aside from our different dialects in the country, as well as our amazing culture and a lot of breath-taking tourist destinations. No doubt that many other foreign people will love the Philippines as much as we love our beloved country.
